Polecat Hot Springs are located inside the Polecat River near the Headwaters of the Snake River in Wyoming. There is a parking lot off of Ashton-Flagg Ranch Road; same parking lot as ‘Huckleberry Hot Springs’. Huckleberry Hot Springs are very hot and not for swimming. Park here and get on the trail toward Huckleberry Hot Springs. Stay on the trail, there will be a river crossing (plan to bring appropriate water shoes as it is a deep creek….there may have been a footbridge added recently but I have not confirmed for 2024). Once across, take an immediate left and look for a narrow trail amidst the grass. Follow this path alongside the river for approximately 0.25 miles until you reach Polecat Hot Spring. You will see steam rising in the hot spots- some are very hot so be careful. There has been concern of bacteria in the water so stay where it is hot and shower immediately after.
**** THIS IS BEAR AND WOLF COUNTRY- be mindful, carry bear spray, travel in groups, make loud noises, avoid dusk and dawn. VERY ACTIVE grizzly sightings in the nearby campgrounds when I was there.
***The hot springs are only open in the late spring or summer months when HWY 287/191 that connects Grand Teton NP & Yellowstone NP is open.
