Barnes Warm Springs Southeast of Frenchglen
Barnes is located southeast of the town of Frenchglen and features one small warm springs fed pool behind the ruins of an old home site.
From Frenchglen, take the Steens Mountain Loop Road a quarter mile to the signed pullout and gate. Hike just under a mile to reach the home site and pool found east of the access road.
FindASpring Team Update:
As of 2025, Barnes Warm Springs is a secluded, undeveloped warm spring in the high desert. The spring is completely free, and the water temperature hovers around 90 degrees, and doesn’t seem to go any higher. This makes it ideal to visit in the warmer months. The Stikine River runs through the area, providing a nice backdrop during your time soaking.
