Alkali Hot Springs is a semi-secluded rustic rock walled hot spring, with two primitive tubs for soaking. It is located in the “ghost town”, old gold mining town, of Alkali. The spring was opened by a couple at the peak of the gold rush. The springs themselves are moderately sized and can fit around 3 people, while measuring around 3 feet deep. Both tubs vary in degrees from 100 to 105 degrees F, though one tub is consistently, slightly, hotter than the other.
Alkali Hot Springs is surrounded by private land, though the springs themselves are free to access. This is important to note when planning to camp, as it is allowed but you need to be wary of camping on the private property which is prohibited. Dogs are not allowed due to the presence of wildlife. Clothing is optional.
