About This Spring

Spring is a warm spring and deep enough to sit in. We visited in winter and were warm inside the spring but not hot- estimated temperature about 93. ***Note there are also privately owned "Potosi Hot Springs" nearby The main spring is not very hot, be prepared with towels and layers. Warmest spot will be near the source in the crevice. Remember to pack bear spray. Starting from Harrison (via Hwy 287), follow the route towards Pony (Pony Rd./Hwy 283). Upon nearing Pony, a noticeable sign for Potosi Road will appear on the left side. Make a left turn onto Potosi Rd. Proceed approximately 3.1 miles until you reach South Willow Creek Rd, where you should turn right. Continue for about 3.5 miles to reach your destination at Potosi. There is parking near the trailhead. The free hot springs are just under a mile. We went in the winter and the trail was only easy to find because of other visitors who had passed before. Stay near the fence line when in doubt and be mindful not to trespass.
