Fales Hot Springs is the remains of an old resort in the Stanislaus National Forest in California. The run off from the source is a geothermal stream that flows out of a pipe from under the 395 highway and goes into a man made rock walled warm spring. The source is on private property, and the water at the source is too hot to soak in so aim for the runoff. The run off from the Fales resort flows out of a pipe from under the 395 highway and goes into a man made rock walled warm spring. The hot springs man made pool averages 95 degrees. The temperature varies according to the season.
This spring is free hot springs. Clothing optional. The warm spring is right along the highway and this affects the ambiance. It is right off the road so be careful with traffic when parking.
