Located near Whitehorse, Yukon, the former Takhini Hot Springs have been redeveloped into Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs, a year-round facility that integrates Scandinavian thermotherapy with Japanese onsen-style soaking. The springs are geothermally heated and continue to offer mineral-rich water for relaxation and wellness.
The Eclipse Pool is the largest pool on site, featuring cascading waterfalls, rock-lined walls, and multiple seating areas including lay-down zones, recliner boulders, and stone benches. The Onsen Pool is smaller, fully rock-lined, and includes a waterfall-fed overflow that drains into a nearby creek. The Aurora Pool, located at the center of the main patio, is accessed via a heated and covered ramp. It offers a panoramic view and contoured benches positioned in a V-shape for group or solo relaxation. The Hidden Pool, a smaller, more secluded option, is tucked behind the Eclipse Pool and seats up to four people.
Additional features include outdoor showers, loungers, a cold plunge, Japanese clay tubs, and designated barefoot walking paths. A seasonal wind barrier is installed during winter months. The facility is designed to promote relaxation, with a focus on thermal cycles, stillness, and nature-based recovery. Eclipse is suitable for both quiet individual visits and social experiences in a structured, calming environment.
