Weewanie Hot Springs is a soothing oceanside bath house just south of Kitimat, holding great significance within the Haisla First Nation. The spring and surrounding area was designated as a park in 2004, with Weewanie springs bathhouse being erected out of a labor of love from volunteers sponsored by the Northern Aquanauts Scuba Dive Club and donations from local businesses.
The water within the bath house, the water settles at a hovering temperature of 100 degrees F, 38 C. The surrounding area offers campsites, picnic areas, and bathroom facilities. The spring can be accessed by charter boat from Kitimat along Devastation Channel to opposite the north end of Hawkesbury Island.
