It appears that this spring is the site where a well was previously dug to gather drinking water around the Ram Falls area. This spring is situated within a small gully a few meters south of the walking track to the Ram Falls lookout. I did not test the spring but it appears to be safe to drink from.
Directions
From places south of Red Deer:Â Find your way to Caroline (along hwy 22). From hwy 22 west of Caroline (when the main highway turns north), take highway 591 west until you approach the Forestry Trunk Road (aka hwy 40/734/940), about 54 km. At the intersection, turn right and continue for about 58 km. You will cross a bridge over the Ram River, and shortly after that there will be the sign for Ram Falls Provincial Park. Park in the parking lot and navigate your way to the spring (along the viewpoint trail).
From places in or north of Red Deer:Â Find your way to Rocky Mountain House, and then make your way onto hwy 11A west. Before the highway crosses the river, turn onto hwy 752 south (on the east side of the river). Continue until you approach the Forestry Trunk Road (aka hwy 40/734/940), about 63 km. At the intersection, turn right and continue for about 32 km. From there, it is the same directions as described above.
