About This Spring

The McKisik Spring is on Spring Street in Centerton, Arkansas, one block west of Main Street and one block north of Hwy 102.  It is fenced off on the corner and has steps leading down to the water. The spring was a source of water to Civil War troops in the 1860s, and townsfolk as the town grew. This vintage spring looks to be no longer in use. Would be a great city project to revive this water source. The water is clear. The springs water flows into McKisik Creek. A sign on the chain link fence surrounding the water source states that the water is not potable. This spring water has not been tested, but historically was a source for fresh clean water.
