These are therapeutic, Sacred waters to The Apache and Mimbres tribes of Southern New Mexico. These healing waters have been an important pilgrimage for medicine people for centuries. From deep within the Earth, these very special mineral waters, are low in sulfur and free of odor. These springs hug the Rio Grande, for a most stunning and rejuvinating setting. In seasons of migration, the bird watching from the pools is quite majestic.
Now the springs are called Riverbend Hot Springs. The town they are located in, formerly Hot Springs, New Mexico is now called Truth or Consequences / ‘T or C’.
You may choose to purchase a 1-hour pass, rent a private pool, or stay as an overnight guest to enjoy the Hot Springs. The space is geared towards couples and is not suitable for young children. There are 8 pools overlooking the Rio Grande ranging in temperature from 95F-107F. There is a cold shower, sauna (for hotel guests) and covered patio, cooling misters in the summer, and a fireplace in the winter, plus hammocks & umbrellas.
There are over 36 minerals in the water, as tested by Los Alamos National Lab.
