Description:
The ‘Water of the Gods’ aka Norris Hot Springs are about 30 minutes west of Bozeman from Four Corners. An open-aire 40′ x 40′ pool sits directly over the hot spring source and was made using locally milled fir planks. The artesian springs have a steady flow rate of 80 gallons per minute and an average temperature of 129°F which is then cooled by a simple sprayer system to ensure an ideal soak by regulating the pool’s temperature. To make for a comfortable soaking temperature the pool is about 100°F in the summer and 106°F in the 8 short months that are winter in Montana.
With a capacity of over 38,000 gallons of fresh, hot mineral water, the pool is drained nightly to allow for refilling with clean water over 8 hours. Cleaning is conducted without chemicals, with the pool and planks being drained and pressure washed weekly on Tuesdays. The overflow and drainage from the pool follow a natural course through neighboring wetlands, flowing five miles east through the Bear Trap canyon until merging with the Madison River at the popular Warm Springs Recreation Area. Take time to stop and enjoy wildlife viewing or fishing along the Madison River on your way to or from Norris. In the summer months we got to see the beautiful American White Pelicans; this migratory species spends their breeding season in Montana.

Norris Hot Spring also has the amazing ’50 Mile Cafe’ & ’50 Mile Grill’ featuring many local items, wiht the goal of being from within 50 miles of The Springs, and incredible produce directly from the Norris Hot Spring’s garden. The ‘No Loose Dogs Saloon’ serves  kombucha, locally crafted beer, wine, and cider.
Day Visit Hours:Â
From Thursday to Sunday, the ‘Water of the Gods’ hot springs operates from 10 am to 10 pm; visitors are welcome without the need for reservations. Admission fees are$12 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $5 for children aged 12 and under. Babies in swim diapers enjoy free entry. Towel rentals are available for $5.
Private Soaking is Available on Monday & Wednesday.
