Pool Temperature and Mineral Analysis:
The hot springs at Chico are known for their soothing warmth, with temperatures ranging between 96°F and 103°F (35°C to 39°C). The large swimming pool is a ‘warm’ pool and the smaller soaking pool is the hottest. The mineral composition of the water includes a blend of calcium, magnesium, and sulfate, believed to offer various health benefits such as muscle relaxation and improved circulation.

History: The area has been used by various tribes, including the Crow, Flathead, Blackfoot, Shoshone, and Nez Perce, for cooking, preparing hides, and bathing. The Chico ‘Warm’ Springs Resort was established in 1900 by Percie and William E. Knowles, featuring a grand opening event with live music and fine dining. After William’s passing in 1910, Percie continued to manage the hotel, gradually transforming it into a popular vacation destination. The Chico Hot Springs was rumored to have been sold in August of 2023, but news of this change is yet unclear.
