Located on the Northern corner of a small island in the middle of the St. Joseph River, this Elkhart city park hosts the site of a naturally occurring spring. It is tested for safety by the public works department but is not treated in any way or connected to the municipal water system. A rock podium is built around it making collection a bit of a chore. I use flexible tubing to channel the water into carboys. It is a short walk from the parking lot on the shore; cars are not allowed on the island.
