It is a retreat center about one hour out of Carmel, CA. It is a long drive down a stone road, not recommended for new cars unless you travel at a very low speed and the drive is longer than one hour. I don’t remember if they charge or not.
FindASpring Team Update:
As of February 2025, Tassajara will remain closed to the public until April 2025. Tassajara valley is home to one of the three Soto Zen practice communities. The are volunteer opportunities to help maintain the monastery, though it will remained closed off till April.
