About This Spring

Our little town has been flooded, burned,
tornado’d and bypassed, but through it all Reeds
Spring has remained a historic and charming
place where life is quiet and peaceful.

In the 1870’s, when the Reed brothers stopped
here to water their cattle at the natural spring,
little could they have known how the area would
develop during the next 140 years. The most
abrupt expansion came with the completion of
a rail line in 1906. The oak covered hills
provided jobs for men cutting railroad ties, and
when the oaks were depleted, tomatoes were
grown. Reeds Spring became known for its
tomato canning factories, and the product was
shipped nationwide on the newly constructed
railroad.
Our quaint little town has so much to offer
including restaurants, retail stores, artwork,
antiques, music and festivals. Come see our
historic buildings, natural spring, railroad, and
many unique businesses. You’ll want to make a
day of it. Only minutes from Branson…but at a
much slower pace.
Take the “Historic Downtown Loop” of Hwy
413/248 and enjoy our town – we’re
more than happy to share.
