Holy well of St John the Baptist in Bisley, Surrey. An ancient spring that never dries, cool in summer and warm in winter. Reputed to heal the eyes and the water is still used in baptisms. A picturesque spot in the woodland about 200 yards behind the church of St John, which is on the ancient pilgrimage route to Canterbury. Parking spots on Clews Lane (51.326270, -0.630038) and Church Lane (51.326270, -0.630038). The water is chalybeate and sulphuric. It makes excellent tea.
