About This Spring

Description:

A beautiful place located in groundwater area. Area is kept in excellent condition and also serves as a tourist attraction. Good accessibility with car, about 500 m from the main road. The spring in only few metres from the small parking space – very convenient. You have two option for gathering water. The main spring which is a large “pond” and has a significant flow rate. The other option is artesian well very near. It is an iron pipe pushed through clay layer to a depth of 24 metres and gets the spring-water before it surfaces. This might be the cleanest water option in this location because the “spring-pond” might gather some pollution before it proceeds to the stream.

Water has been flowing non-stop for 80 years.

Measurements:

Surface spring, 7.11.2010:
– air temp +5, water temp +6
– TDS 35
– tasteless, MINISCULE odor, very drinkable still, I have used this for boiling purposes and drank the artesian well water raw
– fillrate about 10 L / 10 seconds, fast
– PH 7.5-8

Artesian well/pipe, 7.11.2010:
– air temp +5, water temp +7
– TDS 26
– pH 8.4-8.9
– tasteless, odorless
– 24/7/365 water flow with “antigravity pump” 😉
– might stop flowing in dry times?
– fillrate about 1 L / minute, pretty slow
– pipe is short so get a 1-2 L, low profile container with which to fill the bottles
– pipe looks old, but continuous flow should keep the water clean
– two people have drank this water non stop for 5 days, 10-20 L. So far no ill effects

Water collected to 3 x 10 L brown glass bottles and to 2 x 10 L Finnspring plastic-bottles (artesian water in glass bottles).

Commercially sold Finnspring spring water TDS is about 20.

No official tests have been conducted to either water source.
