Transformed into a
Living Community
One Spring Changed Everything
In 2014 Chris Sanborn (Chairman of the Board) realized almost all spring water available for purchase was ultra processed and typically stored in toxic plastic. He started sourcing his own water through a local spring located on Find A Spring and felt an immediate increase in Vitality. Through this desire to share fresh spring water, Alive Water was born, through a passion of providing his nearby community with jugs filled by hand. Alive Water has evolved and now delivers fresh living spring water in reusable glass to over 5,000 families and businesses across the United States.
Alive Water also designs and manufactures the world’s best vessels for collecting, transporting, and enjoying water. Through this shared passion of Alive Water, Find A Spring helps people all around the world find their own spring to enjoy, Alive Waters is a major fiscal sponsor of Find A Spring Foundation every year. With the passion of Chris they felt the calling to make springs accessible to all people around the world, in Feb 2020 the Find A Spring Foundation was officially founded. Uniting spring water enthusiasts together has been the core mission of this project and it all starts with the connection to the sacred waters.

The Find A Spring Team
Aaron is an environmental steward and ocean advocate whose life's work sits at the intersection of science, art, and a lifelong devotion to the sea. Born in Redondo Beach, California and raised near Houston, Texas, Aaron grew up creating art and surfing. These two disciplines instilled a deep reverence for the natural world and a relentless eye for what is worth protecting.
That reverence became conviction early on. In seventh grade, drawing on the scientific rigor modeled by his UCLA Chemistry-trained parents, Aaron designed and built a water-quality experiment that earned the Los Angeles County Environmental Science Award, this was first look at human influenced environmental impacts and a formative signal of the career that would follow.
Aaron earned a B.S. in Physics with a concentration in Radiation and NMR in 2008. Over the 18 years since, he has channeled that scientific foundation into a sustained commitment to environmental nonprofit leadership, serving on boards and as an advisory member for organizations including ReRip, Surfrider Foundation, DaanaBlue, Green Design Center, and Fashion Biz Inc. His collaborative approach has brought him alongside mission-driven brands such as Patagonia, Firewire, Boreo, Pura Vida, Guayaki, Vuori, and Toms Shoes, amplifying science-based environmental solutions across the outdoor, surf, and lifestyle industries.
Aaron's approach is fundamentally preventive: rather than respond to environmental harm after the fact, he champions upstream, science-backed strategies that protect ocean ecosystems and cultivate healthier environments for communities and future generations. Whether in the boardroom or the water, his work reflects a singular belief — that protecting the earth’s sacred waters is not a cause apart from everyday life, but inseparable from it.
Warren Co-founded the Anandamide raw & handmade chocolates shop in Long Beach, Ca 2012 – 2019, where they sourced wild harvested Arriba Nacional Ecuadorean cacao, thus supporting many small communities in Ecuador to thrive, and doing this in a way in harmony with the rainforest as well.
Currently he is the North American Co-Founder of the International Kairao / Centro Awavãna organization, an indigenous amazonian organization that holds space for the spiritual study and cultural preservation / continuation of the traditional ways of the Yawanawa tribe of Acre, Brazil.
Warren is a lifelong advocate for ecological harmony and the preservation of indigenous wisdom, whose work bridges environmental stewardship, cultural continuity, and conscious commerce across the Americas.
In 2012, Warren co-founded Anandamide, a raw and handmade chocolate shop in Long Beach, California, built on a foundational commitment to environmental and community integrity. By sourcing wild-harvested Arriba Nacional Ecuadorean cacao, the venture created meaningful economic pathways for small farming communities across Ecuador — supporting livelihoods in a manner that honored and reinforced the health of the surrounding rainforest. The shop operated until 2019, leaving behind a model of how ethical sourcing can simultaneously uplift human communities and protect fragile ecosystems.
Warren's dedication to indigenous cultures and Amazonian preservation has since taken on a defining role in his life's work. He serves as the North American Co-Founder of the International Kairao / Centro Awavãna, an indigenous Amazonian organization devoted to the spiritual study and cultural preservation of the traditional ways of the Yawanawá people of Acre, Brazil. Through this work, Warren helps hold space for one of the Amazon's living cultures — ensuring that ancient knowledge systems, ceremonial practices, and a deep reciprocal relationship with the land are not lost, but carried forward.
At the intersection of environmental protection, regenerative commerce, and indigenous sovereignty, Warren represents a rare and essential voice — one rooted equally in action and reverence.
A true purist, devoting his time to nature, focused on sourcing pure food and water because Chris believes this gives us the best sustenance. These practices simultaneously incentivize us to examine how we can protect and restore the earth’s endless beauty. These fundamentals are what inspires Chris as Chairman of the Board for Find A Spring.
In 2014 Chris realized almost all spring water available for purchase was ultra processed and typically stored in toxic plastic. He started sourcing his own water through a local spring located on Find A Spring and felt an immediate increase in Vitality.
He started the Alive Water brand by providing his nearby community with jugs filled by hand. The business has evolved and now delivers fresh living spring water in reusable glass to over 3,000 families and businesses.
Chris strives to live immersed in nature, deepening an ever growing relationship with being a true hunter and gatherer. Foraging, catching wild game, finding cold springs and immersing in hot springs are some of his favorite things. Being connected to nature is the core part of his being.
Chris is guided by a simple but profound conviction: that our relationship with the natural world is the foundation of human vitality. As Chairman of the Board for Find A Spring, he channels this belief into meaningful action — championing access to pure food and water as both a personal practice and a catalyst for broader environmental stewardship.
In 2014, Chris recognized a troubling reality: nearly all commercially available spring water was heavily processed and packaged in harmful plastic. In response, he began sourcing directly from a local spring listed on Find A Spring — and the effect was immediate. Energized by what he experienced, he built Alive Water from the ground up, beginning with hand-filled jugs delivered to neighbors and growing into a thriving enterprise that now brings fresh, living spring water in reusable glass to more than 3,000 families and businesses.
Beyond his work, Chris lives what he believes. Foraging, hunting, fishing, and seeking out cold and hot springs aren't hobbies — they are expressions of a lifelong commitment to existing in true partnership with the earth. This deep, evolving connection to the natural world is not just what drives his advocacy. It is who he is.
