Chris Sanborn
A true purist, devoting his time to nature, focused on sourcing pure food and water because Chris believes this gives us the best sustenance. These practices simultaneously incentivize us to examine how we can protect and restore the earth’s endless beauty. These fundamentals are what inspires Chris as Chairman of the Board for Find A Spring.
In 2014 Chris realized almost all spring water available for purchase was ultra processed and typically stored in toxic plastic. He started sourcing his own water through a local spring located on Find A Spring and felt an immediate increase in Vitality.
He started the Alive Water brand by providing his nearby community with jugs filled by hand. The business has evolved and now delivers fresh living spring water in reusable glass to over 3,000 families and businesses.
Chris strives to live immersed in nature, deepening an ever growing relationship with being a true hunter and gatherer. Foraging, catching wild game, finding cold springs and immersing in hot springs are some of his favorite things. Being connected to nature is the core part of his being.
Chris is guided by a simple but profound conviction: that our relationship with the natural world is the foundation of human vitality. As Chairman of the Board for Find A Spring, he channels this belief into meaningful action — championing access to pure food and water as both a personal practice and a catalyst for broader environmental stewardship.
In 2014, Chris recognized a troubling reality: nearly all commercially available spring water was heavily processed and packaged in harmful plastic. In response, he began sourcing directly from a local spring listed on Find A Spring — and the effect was immediate. Energized by what he experienced, he built Alive Water from the ground up, beginning with hand-filled jugs delivered to neighbors and growing into a thriving enterprise that now brings fresh, living spring water in reusable glass to more than 3,000 families and businesses.
Beyond his work, Chris lives what he believes. Foraging, hunting, fishing, and seeking out cold and hot springs aren’t hobbies — they are expressions of a lifelong commitment to existing in true partnership with the earth. This deep, evolving connection to the natural world is not just what drives his advocacy. It is who he is.
