Gandll K’in Gwaayaay, or Hot Spring Island, is a small island off the southeast coast of Lyell Island in the Haida Gwaii Archipelago, off of the North Coast of BC Canada. Managed by the Haida Gwaii Watchmen within the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site, this island is known for its multiple hot spring pools with ranging temperatures across the springs. Some of the hottest can reach temperatures around 162 degrees F, 72 C.
There are only two ways to reach the island, by air or by sea. There are licensed tour operators which make acquiring permits and transportation easier. One could take one of the six weekly ferries to the island, or, for those wanting a more involved journey, can travel two days via kayak.
