Located just North of Thermopolis Wyoming, Fountain of Youth Hot Pool boasts the largest mineral hot pool in Wyoming, third largest in the world. The water comes from the nearby Sacajawea Well where it flows directly into the pool. Interestingly, the well was discovered by accident in 1918 by C.F. Cross who was drilling for oil at the time. The temperature of the pool ranges naturally from 100 – 104 F, with new water being naturally cycled out by the well at a rate of 1.3 million gallons everyday! This means that the water in the pool, which holds 84,600 cubic feet of water, is fully replaced every 11 hours.
