Ruby Valley Hot Springs, also known as Smith Ranch Hot Springs,  is located on state land and open to the public year-round. Due to adverse road conditions, accessing Ruby Valley in the winter is not advised. It features multiple pools, with the largest one spanning about 30 feet in diameter. The springs sits vary in temperature from 90 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit, be sure to check the temperature before hopping in!.
Before making the trip to Ruby Valley we advise looking into the conditions ahead of time as wet and cold seasons are particularly harsh on the road state. Bring necessary equipment for long range cell contact and car repair equipment as in this part of Nevada, cell service is extremely limited or nonexistent. Load up with more food and water than you think you’ll need, and let someone know where you’re headed and when you plan to be back.
The surrounding area is a beautiful sprawling open landscape, perfect for a relaxing soak or event some late star gazing!
